Meet Kim

CLASS Affiliate Trainer & Observer

Founder of CLASSy K Solutions, LLC

Kim’s passion for Early Childhood Education began in 2005 as an Infant/Toddler Teacher. The following year she graduated from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. In 2009, she continued her work in early childhood education as a NC Pre-K Teacher Assistant and Substitute Bus Driver.  To further her career, she completed the Praxis Exam and taught Kindergarten at Creekside Elementary School in Winterville, NC for several years.

Although she loved teaching in the public school system, her servant heart was for low-income children and families.  As a result, Kim started her Head Start Career in 2016, as the Early Childhood Development Manager. There she supervised more than sixty staff members in a three (3) county service area for two (2) years where she became a certified CLASS reliable observer the same year. 

  • Still committed to the “Ministry” of Head Start, Kim deemed it necessary to step out on faith into a “new season”.  As a result, she applied for, and was hired as, the Education/CLASS-Program Specialist.

    Just one year later, Kim was promoted to the position of Assistant Program Director of the Head Start/Early Head Start grantee in Greene and Lenoir Counties.  Although she was still considered the “new kid on the block”, Kim made her mark early on, as she accomplished one of the Head Start program’s long-standing goals; she became its’ first certified CLASS Affiliate Trainer!!!  In 2019, she led the agency in the successful completion of its’ Federal CLASS review, with zero findings!  With eighteen (18) years of experience in Early Childhood Education, Kim provides training and technical assistance, along with practice-based coaching. She has a proven track record as a CLASS trainer.  Her positive approach to training underscores the unique individual needs of each trainee/client, assuring desired results.
